Agamemnon by Aeschylus

adapted by Richard Spaul

The earliest and greatest of Greek Tragedies.

Agamemnon, victorious commander-in-chief of the Greek forces at Troy, returns in triumph to his home in Argos. But he has a bad past. Ten years earlier his pursuit of victory at all costs caused him to sacrifice his daughter Iphigenia, and the girl’s mother, Clytemnestra, has neither forgotten nor forgiven.

in situ:’s outstanding ensemble of performers, combined with installation, physical theatre and a new translation created by director and cast are the main ingredients in an electrifying new performance of Aeschylus’ compelling tale of infanticide and vendetta.
